2021 update
- SOURCE: The Key for School Leaders model eSafety policy template (published 23/12/20), coupled with BGS-specific tweaks.
- Introduction - changed/tidied legislation links.
- Section 2.4: Changed network manager responsibilities to better-match what happens
- Section 4: Removed reference to signing to agree to acceptable use policy
- Section 5: Frequency of password changes from half-termly to 'full term'
- Section 6: Removed, 'The network manager is responsible for ensuring that software licence logs are accurate and up to date and that regular checks are made to reconcile the number of licences purchased against the number of software installations.' (relevance)
- Section 6: Added Not sharing the device among family or friends
- Adult and Student AUA - added more detail
- Changed method of requesting un-blocks for sites.
- Monitoring: Removed detail from end of 'School technical staff regularly monitor and record the activity of users on the school technical systems and users are made aware of this in the Acceptable Use Policy.', as we also use other systems.
- Changed from 'forbidden' to: Staff are strongly encouraged not to download executable files and install programs on school laptop computers. Any colleague wishing to do so should take advice from a Network Team colleague before attempting to do so.
- Changed last point to emphasise not taking personal data home. Link added to GDPR, example given)
2019 update
- This is a total re-write of the previous eSafety policy.
- Sources are:
- The model policy from The Key (their date: 11/12/17), obtained by SAB in January 2019
- Relevant elements of the previous policy (e.g. concerning social media, response to issues)
