Accessing Teams

  • Tip: You can install Teams and log into it on more than one device. Many students install Teams on a smartphone so they get updates as they occurs, but also use the Teams app on a computer when they're writing up longer pieces of work.
  • Tip: Parents/carers may also wish to install Teams on a smart device, then ask their child to log into it using their credentials. This will allow you see your child's homework as it is set.
  • Nearly any Internet enabled device can be used to access Microsoft Teams. Using the links below, you can...
    • Install the app onto a laptop or desktop computer,
    • Install the app on an iPhone or iPad,
    • Install the app on an Android phone or tablet, or
    • Log in to Teams on a web browser such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on a computer, XBox, Playstation or mobile device without installing anything.
  • IMPORTANT: Log in using your network username and password. Your username will need to followed by the school's domain name. E.g. User 03js11 should enter [email protected]
  • If prompted, choose ‘Work or school account’ and ‘allow notifications’.

Accessing Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, etc) from home

  • You can access online versions of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. MS Word, MS Excel) by logging into Teams using a web browser (E.g. Google Chrome) and then following the steps in this BGS-produced tutorial video.
  • The browser-based versions of Office allow you to open, edit and save work as you would in the full versions of those applications.

Teams on XBox

  • Plug a keyboard in to the Xbox USB slot (and a mouse, if you have access to one)
  • Go into my games and apps
  • Find Microsoft Edge and select it
  • Type in: https://teams.microsoft.com/_#/school/
  • Log in using your username and password as described above. You can then use Teams with either an Xbox controller or a mouse.

Teams on Playstation

  • Identify the PlayStation internet browser icon (it is WWW with dots around it)
  • Press the PlayStation logo on the controller
  • Go to the library and find options for games and applications
  • Go into applications and you will find the internet browser
  • Type in: https://teams.microsoft.com/_#/school/
  • Log in using your username and password as described above.
